A Word from Our Head of School
Welcome to Calvary Chapel Christian Academy
Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family makes, and we don’t take lightly that you are considering trusting us with your child.
CCCA is a ministry of Calvary Chapel Newport News, so our work is both education and ministry. From our youngest learners in the Developmental Center to our fifth graders, every child here is known by name, prayed for, and taught by adults who care about who they are becoming, not only what they score.
Our academics are strong and growing stronger. Every subject is taught from Abeka’s Christ-centered curriculum, sequenced to the Virginia Standards of Learning. Every lesson is planned around a clear learning target, students are assessed in reading and math three times a year, and last year every one of our students grew in math. We pair that rigor with daily Bible instruction, weekly chapel, and a community that reaches up, in, around and out.
I would love to show you around. Come visit, ask your questions, and meet our team.
Warmly,
Charles E. Medley Jr.

A Look Inside CCCA
Appropriate Program
Our developmentally appropriate program values Christ-likeness, academic excellence, and creativity. Our program encourages positive attitudes and moral character. Our staff and teachers lovingly provide daily instruction from the Bible as well as consistent prayer for each child and family. We understand the importance of the collaborative efforts of the church, family, and school in the development of each child. Therefore, we will endeavor to aid the child’s learning in each of these areas.
