About Us
Putting God first from PreK to 5th grade
Our School
Calvary Chapel Christian Academy creates the foundation for success in offering quality PreK – 5th Grade Private Christian Education coupled with the teachings of the Word of God.
We offer a full-time preschool program for ages 30 months through 5 years old, an elementary program through 5th grade, and a before and after-school program which serves students up to 12 years old that attend Newport News Public Schools. We are open from 6:00am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday, year-round with the exception of Academy defined Holidays and Breaks.
Our Mission
Our Vision
Calvary Chapel Christian Academy is a school that trains children to reach UP, IN, AROUND, and OUT.
We train our students to reach up by teaching them to pray and give praise to God, our Creator
We train our students to reach in by helping them to discover who they are, what they already know, and providing them with activities that help them to grow emotionally, socially, spiritually, and academically.
We train our students to reach around by helping them to build relationships and show the love of Christ to others.
We train our children to reach out by providing them with opportunities to serve others in our community.
Our Core Values
Calvary Chapel Christian Academy prides itself on providing a holistic Christian learning experience that develops academic success while teaching faith in God. These are the values that guide our institution.
Integrity
Core Value: Integrity serves as a guiding principle in our pursuit of academic excellence, personal growth, and spiritual development, preparing students to lead lives of integrity and purpose in service to God and others.
“We believe in the importance of moral excellence, honesty, and consistency in all aspects of life. Integrity is not merely adherence to a set of rules but a reflection of our commitment to truthfulness, transparency, and accountability. It guides our actions, decisions, and relationships, fostering an environment of trust and respect. In embracing integrity, we strive to reflect the character of Christ, who is the ultimate example of truth and righteousness.”
Bible Verse: “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” (Proverbs 11:3, NIV)
Excellence:
Core Value: Excellence inspires us to continually improve, uphold integrity, and embrace the unique gifts and talents God has given each of us, as we strive to fulfill our mission with passion and purpose.
“We are committed to pursuing excellence in all we do. Rooted in our faith in Christ, we believe that excellence honors God and inspires others. We strive for excellence in academics, character development, and spiritual growth, challenging ourselves to exceed expectations and glorify God in every endeavor. Excellence is not just a goal but a mindset that drives us to seek the highest standards of achievement, stewardship, and service. Through diligence, perseverance, and a spirit of innovation, we prepare our students to impact their communities and the world for Christ.”
Bible Verse: “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:17, NIV)
The Golden Rule
Core Value: The Golden Rule inspires us to uphold justice, promote unity, and serve others with humility and grace, striving to create a community that exemplifies Christ-like love and compassion in all aspects of life.
“We believe in treating others with the same love, respect, and kindness that we desire for ourselves. Following Jesus’ commandment to “do to others what you would have them do to you” (Matthew 7:12, NIV), we cultivate a community where empathy, compassion, and understanding flourish. By practicing the Golden Rule, we seek to reflect the selfless love of Christ and foster an inclusive environment where every individual feels valued and supported.”
Bible Verse: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:12, NIV)
Service
Core Value: Service motivates us to engage in acts of kindness, mercy, and justice, reflecting God’s heart for the marginalized and underserved. Through service-learning initiatives, missions, and outreach programs, we equip our students to be compassionate leaders who embody Christ’s mission to love and serve others, transforming communities and bringing glory to God.
“We embrace service as a fundamental expression of our faith in Christ. Inspired by Jesus’ example of sacrificial love and servant leadership, we are called to serve others with compassion, humility, and generosity. Service is not just a duty but a joyful opportunity to demonstrate Christ’s love and make a positive impact in our communities and beyond. By actively seeking opportunities to serve, we cultivate a spirit of empathy and selflessness, contributing to the welfare and flourishing of others.”
Bible Verse: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45, NIV)
